Teamtalk 5.3.3 for Android crashing
August 10, 2018 12:28AM
Hi,

yesterday I made an update of TT (Android) 5.3.3 on my smartphone. Before I was using TT 5.3 and it was running
with no problems. With the 5.3.3 version it is crashing immediatly after starting the app.

I am using smartphone UMIDIGI Plus E with Android 6.01

Greetings
Manfred

You don’t even manage to see the server list?

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall it?

I tried to re-install the app several times - still the same problem!
Is it possible to downgrade to an earlier version, Bjoern ???

I downgraded to TT 5.3 - DLL ver. 5.3.0.4914 (for Android) and everything is working fine again!

Now, my Android smartphone made an auto-uodate of Teamtalk, again the same problems with the latest version 5.3.3 for Android!
Bjoern, what can I do?

From what I can read the phone is a 64-bit ARM so it should load the new DLL. Therefore when you said you replaced the DLL with 5.3 then it would still load the new 64-bit version and not the 32-bit DLL (unless you deleted the arm64-v8a folder).

Can you delete the file in arm64-v8a and see if it will launch? Then it should run in 32-bit mode.

Other users report that it works on Android 7 and 8 with the 64-bit DLL and I use the 32-bit DLL on Android 5. Maybe this is only an issue for Android 6.

HI Bjoern,

my smartphone is not "routed". So, I cannot see or delete any system files, sorry!

Until now, there is no system update for my smartphone available, thanks to UMIDIGI ! winking smiley

Hm, I think I figured out what the problem is. I compile the 64-bit library for Android API level 24 which is Android 7.0. It looks like Android 6 loads the 64-bit library although it's incompatible. I'll see if I can force Android 6 to load the 32-bit library instead.

Hi,

what happened with the forum? Hacked? All messages are upside down! Very old messages appear in the beginning of the list!
I guess something went wrong!

It wasn't hacked but someone sent a lot of spam.

Hi Manfred

I've uploaded a new beta without 64-bit ARM so it should work again on your Android 6 device.

Thanks Bjoern, very nice! It is working now on my Android 6 smartphone!smiling smiley

But there is still an issue:

The TX button only works when pressing two times. If I press only one time, It turns green, but does not
transmit any audio. If I press TX within 5 seconds, I only have to press one time. When making a longer
break, I have to press two times to transmit the audio from the microphone. Funny effect!

Best greetings
